Western Gateway Dog Park

Rules & Regulations

This off-leash dog park and oak grove are designed for dogs who like to play together. If you need a separate exercise space for your dog, we ask you to use one of the empty yards.

  1. For everyone's safety, all dogs should be leashed when entering and exiting the dog park and oak grove.

  2. Use this facility at your own risk and ask permission to enter any area where other dogs are present.  Remove your dog's leash before going inside.  No spike, choke, or prong collars are allowed.

  3. You are legally and financially responsible for any injury caused by your dog (CA Civil Code Sec. 3342).  Exchange contact information and notify the NC Sheriff's Dept./Animal Control (530) 265-1471.

  4. Be respectful and pick up after your dog. If your dog digs a hole, fill it in.

  5. The dog park and oak grove are for dogs and their handlers, not playgrounds for children. Unruly behavior, running, throwing rocks, or climbing on park structures, etc., are not allowed.  You are legally and financially responsible for any injury, or damage to park property caused by your child. Children under age 13 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

  6. Be aware that the oak grove may have ticks, foxtails, troublesome weeds, or poison oak which we are working to control.

Additional Guidelines:

  1. All dogs must be licensed, immunized, and in good health

  2. No vicious or dangerous dogs. If your dog attacks another dog, you must remove your dog from the premises immediately.
