Please join us for our First Volunteer Work Day of 2024
Thursday, March 21st (this is the new date due to incoming weather)
8:00 am - 11:00 am
We will have coffee and donuts waiting for you!
Upon arrival, please proceed directly to the check-in table where you will sign your liability waiver and receive your work team assignment.
Since volunteers will be going in and out of all gates, and considering that you will be busy working, we recommend you
do not bring your dog to the workday.
Workday Projects:
1. Rake yard gravel away from fence lines
2. Rake / leaf-blow leaves throughout dog park
3. Remove downed limbs throughout dog park
4. Leaf-blow cement walkways
5. Cut off, cut up and remove large over-hanging limbs within the Oak Grove enclosure
6. Weed removal / weed-eating throughout dog park
7. Prep and re-paint fire hydrant
8. Hang April 14th Rattlesnake banners
Items to bring with you, if you have:
Cordless leaf blowers, rakes, shovels, hoes, tree pruners / loppers, weed eaters
(battery powered tools cannot be recharged at the park). It’s a good idea to label your tools, and don’t forget your gloves.
Drinking water will be provided.
Without volunteers like yourself, Western Gateway Dog Park could not receive the TLC it takes to make it the best dog park in Nevada County!

Our Dog Park clinic schedule is fully booked for 2024, If you need to enroll in a class near our area please call Get Rattled directly to inquire about availability 1-775-234-8844.
On April 14, 2024, our annual Rattlesnake Avoidance Clinic will be held at the dog park. Our wonderful friends and professionals at Get Rattled have assured us they are dedicated to training and retraining our dog park members.
1. The cost for initial training will be $150. This is an increase from previous years because of the rise in travel expenses.
2. Refresher training will be $100.
3. Only six dogs will be accepted PER HOUR. Get Rattled wants to ensure the best possible training for all dogs. It's all about QUALITY, not QUANTITY. We love this group for that reason!
Please join our Membership prior to attending this clinic. We will offset your INITIAL TRAINING expense (NOT a retrain) per member (NOT per dog) by $20. So basically, you are getting your membership dues back! If you have a FAMILY membership, we will still credit you $20.
